Valard Construction is looking for an Indigenous Relations Liaison to support two major Hydro One transmission projects in Northern Ontario.

The Northeast Power Line will run a 500 kV line from Sudbury to Wharncliffe, and the North Shore Link will add a 230 kV double-circuit line to Sault Ste. Marie. Together, the projects will strengthen grid capacity, support growing energy demand and create economic opportunities across the region. The North Shore Link is being developed in partnership with First Nations.

The Liaison will work directly with partnering Indigenous communities and help Valard deliver on its commitments to them. The role includes building relationships with community members and leadership, preparing information packages and community materials, and coordinating events such as open houses and career fairs. The Liaison will also track hiring, workforce hours, spending and procurement, and help address community concerns as the projects move forward.

Valard is seeking candidates with at least five years of experience in Indigenous relations or community engagement, strong cultural competency and an understanding of protocols. Applicants should have post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience, and be comfortable using Microsoft Office and Power BI. Experience in construction, energy or utilities is an asset.
