Members of partnering Nations will soon have the opportunity to attend a Community Open House + Job Fair and Business Engagement event hosted by the Waasmoowin Opportunities and Consultation Council (WOCC) in collaboration with Hydro One and Valard Construction. The events relate to Waasmoowin and Hydro One's North Shore Link and Northeast Power Line projects.
The Community Open House is a chance to learn more about the projects, receive updates, ask questions and share feedback.
The Job Fair and Business Engagement event is a chance to explore potential employment, training and business opportunities.
WOCC will support training to help First Nation members build the skills, certifications and qualifications needed for project employment. WOCC is also working with project unions to create clearer pathways to union membership, apprenticeships, training and jobs.
Local businesses and entrepreneurs are encouraged to attend to learn about contracting, procurement and supplier opportunities connected to the projects.
